NYFW 2014 Recap

T’was the week of Fashion in New York, and all through the streets, not a basic piece was sighted, not even a white tee! *record scratch* Okay maybe that was a little much, but we are in the tail end of New York Fashion Week 2014 and the streets are reeking with beautiful style lovers.. This year’s festivities have featured all of the hottest trends for Spring 2015. From the typical spring florals, to structured plaids, and even lightweight tweed ensembles. Some of the most notable designers in the world are once again engraving their creative fingerprint into our brains. Thank you Style Gods!

When you think of the “legends” in the modeling world, some may speak to the likes of Tyra Banks, Gisele Bundchen, Iman, and of course, the Naomi Campbell. This brown goddess made a surprising runway comeback to help Mark Badgley and James Mischka celebrate their 25th year of wowing audiences at NYFW.

Who looks this amazing at 42? Mrs. Jada Pinkett Smith does! Sporting a sexy sheer blouse and baroque shorts, the Gotham star is epitomizing the Grown and Sexy label. She was spotted front row at the Dennis Basso show glowing in all of her glory.

Kendall Jenner was all a buzz hitting the runway for Diane Von Furstenburg in this plaid and lace combo. Fresh faced with legs that go on forever, the young maven from the Kardashian klan made effortless debuts throughout the week.

Concrete Runway

I love to browse social media for the the conglamery of neck turners during fashion events. The spectators who caught the attention of multiple camera lenses while tipping through the streets of New York made bold statements with print mixing, clean lines, and plaids. Hashtag NYFW!

The perfect combo of B&W worn by this beauty blogger (right). The contrast of window pane against vertical checkered patterns is enough to make a statement without being overdone. An otherwise simple ensemble became eye catching with its bold prints (left). The classic pant suit was taken up a notch and balanced out with yet another statement, the patterned bag.

Animal printed pumps and a cut out midi complimented the #theyhavenames tee that has caused a lot of buzz this week. (right) The Cosmo Market Director showed support to the families of the most recent racial deaths by law enforcement. Fierce photographer(left) paired a retro screen tee and a plaid midi for a grunge girly look.

I didn’t forget about my guys. These lookers stood out in a crowd of black, white and grey. Bold prints, a pop of color, man case, melanin, and a structured blazer all in one picture. Round of applause to these gentlemen!

As the world gears up for London Fashion Week, I challenge you to make a bold statement this week. It can be with your wardrobe or even your actions. Be fearless and effortless as you search your closet for your next outfit. Talk to you next week!
