Today marks the name of the famous freestyle off oDJ Screw’s 1996 tape June 27th. DJ Screw recorded the freestyle in honor of his friend D-Mo’s birthday. This track has gone down in history as one of the best Houston hip-hop recordings ever. This track gives people the insight of the Southern style of rapping.
Screw is more than music it is a life style. Muddy sprites, candy cars, chopped up and slowed music, and so much more. For June 27th to still be relevant 18 years later is a huge deal for the late great DJ Screw. With artist like Drake and many more sampling the record will forever keep Screw alive.
