106 & Park served as the platform for the 2014 XXL Freshmen Cover announcement. This years artist are referred to as The Dirty Dozen. These artist have been creating a buzz, putting in work and now it all pays off.

In alphabetical order, they are August Alsina [New Orleans], Chance the Rapper[Chicago], Isaiah Rashad [Chattanooga], Jarren Benton [Decatur], Jon Connor [Flint], Kevin Gates [Baton Rouge], Lil Bibby [Chicago], Lil Durk [Chicago], Rich Homie Quan [Atlanta], Troy Ave [Brooklyn], Ty Dolla $ign [Los Angeles] and Vic Mensa [Chicago].

Being I am from Louisiana, seeing Kevin Gates and August Alsina make the cover is a proud moment. I've been following their careers from the beginning.
