The Anon Hackers group released a name responsible for Mike Brown's death yesterday, which was apparently incorrect. Ferguson, MO police have finally identified the officer who was responsible for shooting and wrongfully killing Mark Brown. Chief Thomas Jackson revealed Darren Wilson as the officer.
The New York Times reports that Wilson was on alert of a nearby robbery when he came upon Brown.
Earlier, Chief Jackson said the authorities thought that it was an appropriate time to identify the officer.
“Nothing specific went into that decision, but we feel that there’s a certain calm,” he said. “There’s a huge outcry from the community.”
The initial refusal of Chief Jackson to reveal the officer’s name had galvanized demonstrators and prompted civil rights groups to go to court to force its release. Chief Jackson had said that his unwillingness to disclose the name had been based on safety concerns after death threats against the officer and his family were posted on social media

After various holes have been poked in Feguson Police Reports. A face has been put to the the officer who is responsible for Mike Brown's death.
Darren Wilson was named as the alleged killer but there were several speculations the police department had made up an alias to protect the officer involved. Yahoo! News who released a photo of the 28-year-old officer that was posted by his father six months ago on Facebook captioned:
Very proud of my son, Darren Wilson on his receiving a Commendation from his Police Department. Congratulations Son.
Also on his father's timeline, shortly after the Ferguson shooting Darren's father took to Facebook again, asking for prayers:
Dear FB friends, Our family is in need for prayers to be sent up for a family member. Circumstances do not allow for us to say anything further. Please pray with our family in mind. Put a covering of protection over our family member please.
